How do you remove the back of the case to get to the battery? It is really hard to open.?

Dell Laptop Inspiron 5100 battery. The laptop is not turning on. I’ve check the green light and it is on. So, now I want to remove the battery, and the case won’t budge.

Turn the laptop off and turn it over. Look toward the back of the laptop and you should be able to see a rectangular door with slide pins on both sides. Slide these pins to the outside and the battery should pop out.
I would not suspect the battery as to your problem however, it could be that the power adapter is bad (the power cord).
