Among the most important features of any rifle scope is the caliber of the glass utilized in the lenses. Quite simply, lower quality glass indicates lesser quality clarity and picture. A number of competitors use glass or lenses which are manufactured abroad. Nikon only utilizes glass made in the US. The Monarch series optics boasts a 95% rate of light transmission.
